Syria - SyTRA Type Approval Status

In December 2015, we were advised by our local agent that despite the ongoing civil war, SyTRA, the Syrian Telecommunications Regulatory Authority, can still issue Type Approval certificates.  The Syrian Type approvals can be issued based upon the TYPE APPROVAL GUIDELINES REGULATION For Radio Equipment and Telecommunications Terminal Equipment Approved No./14/ dated July 23, 2013.  These approvals are limited to three years and the approved equipment is subject to the new national labeling requirements as well.

We were recently advised by our local agent that Papua New Guinea's National Information & Communications Technology Authority (NICTA) published Regulation TA100 G, which provides the new equipment registration and Type Approval framework schemes in effect as of December 1, 2015.  The Type Approval Registration Schemes are divided into two categories:

A. Basic Approval Scheme (BAPS)

  • Customer Equipment (CE)

  • Controlled Customer Equipment (CCE)

B. Equipment Registration Scheme (ERS)

  • Compulsory Equipment Registration Scheme (CERS)

  • Simplified Equipment Registration Scheme (SERS)

Labelling under the new regulation must show:

  • The equipment's trade name, model name and serial number;

  • 斗地主达人The Manufacturer's/Supply's name;

  • The regulatory compliance label from the recognized Type Approval regimes for ICT equipment classified under CERS and CCE category。

NICTA may accept the compliance labelling mark(s) from the international recognized Type Approval regimes subject to the verification of device documents.  Examples of labelling marks are: "ACMA C-Tick", "ACMA RCM", "EU CE", etc. Use of ACMA C-Tick", "ACMA RCM" or "EU CE" depends on the approach followed for compliance.
